Why Puls8

Our first-hand field experience of the challenges faced in everyday scenarios has allowed us to identify a novel solution that is applicable across multi industry. 

We are passionate about simplifying many of these tasks to bring efficiencies and safety improvements to many dangerous environments.

We are not making an impossible task possible, we are making a possible task Quicker, Safer and Cost Effective while playing our part in achieving Net Zero.

Every misidentified line can impact Carbon Emissions and has potential to cause personnel injury and equipment damage – it is simply too easy to get wrong. 

From our Aberdeen base we are creating Puls8 smart tooling for the user – by the user.

TechX

In 2020 we secured a place on the OGTC (Oil and Gas Technology Centre) TechX Program from almost 170 applicants around the world. 

This culminated in us winning the prestigious 2020 bp Technology Award which was a great endorsement for our solution to target Safe operations, Digitize Data and help reduce Carbon Emissions.

Too easy to get wrong

  • Documentation is often outdated or missing
  • Access is often restricted, with lines being routed through bulkheads, under decks or gratings and in locations that make them difficult to trace and confirm
  • Experienced personnel are leaving the industry. Necessary expertise is not always available which increases the risk of human error
  • Pipework of same size, material and visual condition is easy to misidentify
  • As-Build work is not budgeted for or is neglected
  • Many surveys are repeated un-necessarily
  • Incomplete digital record of infrastructure on assets for visibility
  • Processes are seldom standardised and require simplifying to achieve accurate and consistent results
  • There is a real desire to reduce carbon emissions and existing processes will not achieve this
